The Jupiter fund’s team is headed by John Chatfeild-Roberts and is supported by co-managers Algy Smith-Maxwell, Amanda Sillars and David Lewis, according to McDermott. All four belong to the independent funds team, which manages other Merlin Portfolios. In total, there are six Merlin portfolios, which are fund-of-fund products.
Chatfeild-Roberts and Smith-Maxwell have been running the fund since its inception in 2008, while Sillars and Lewis became co-managers in 2014, he said.
Turning to the Nordea product, McDermott said that the fund is managed by co-managers Asbjorn Trolle Hansen, Claus Vorm and Kurt Kongsted. All three have been managing the fund since its launch in 2005.
“Over almost 15 years, the Nordea fund has attracted large amounts of assets under management, [at around €10.1bn ($11.2bn)], and it is the behemoth in the multi-asset sector,” he added.
McDermott does not have any concerns over either team as they have been stable and have been managing the funds for a long time.
