The JP Morgan fund has ongoing charges (OCF) of 1.59%, while the Schroders offering’s OCF is 1.86%, according to Share.
The peer median OCF of income-generating Asia-focused funds is 1.72%, making the Schroders fund one of the more expensive products in the category.
However, Share believes that the Schroders fund’s OCF should not be a concern.
“Despite the cheaper fees on the JP Morgan fund, overall, we have a stronger confidence in the Schroders fund being able to outperform in the future,” she said, noting that Morningstar’s assessment of the fund’s investment process and team is positive.
