HEAD-TO-HEAD: Investec versus JP Morgan
FSA compares two Asia-Pacific ex-Japan equity funds: the Investec Asian Equity Fund and the JP Morgan Asia Growth Fund.
Fees
The Investec fund’s retail ongoing charges figure (OCF) is 2.70%, “which is too high,” according to Ng.
The median fee for the Asia ex-Japan sector is 1.90%, although the range is quite wide, with one fund charging as much as 3.53% for its stock-picking expertise, while several active funds charge less than 1%.
The JP Morgan fund’s 1.69% OCF is “reasonable”, said Ng.
