FE Analytics has given the Hamon fund a one-crown rating, while the Schroders fund receives five crowns.
This crown rating methodology assesses a fund’s alpha, volatility and consistency of performance.
Ng said he prefers the Schroders fund over the Hamon fund.
“The Schroders fund has a better team, and the fund’s investment philosophy and process has been proven through the up and downs of the market,” he said.
Ng added that in addition to the Hamon fund’s under-performance, he is also concerned with the risk management of the fund, citing its high volatility.
