Lazard actively looks at Next Gen; Goldman Sachs loves active in small places; Janus Henderson is reassuring; Private equity’s overflowing war chest; Jevons Paradox; Hamlet’s wisdom and much more.
The Hamon fund is managed by the firm’s investment team, which includes CEO Hugh Simon, chief investment officer Raymond Chan, and fund managers Lin Shi and Neil Mascarenhas, according to Ng.
The team is also in charge of other funds, such as the Greater China Fund and the Selected Asian Portfolio Fund, Ng added, noting that the team also manages segregated accounts.
Turning to Schroders, Ng said the fund is managed by Toby Hudson, who took over from Robin Parbrook in mid-2017.
Although Hudson does not have a long-term track record in managing the fund, Ng noted he has been working with Parbrook for a very long time. Both have been with Schroders for 25 years.
Hudson is supported by the Asia ex-Japan equities team, which has around 15 portfolio managers and 30 dedicated analysts, according to Ng.
Ng said he likes the Schroders team better since they have more resources.
