The FSA Spy market buzz – 22 November 2024
Dimensional excludes the Middle Kingdom; JP Morgan’s optimistic outlook; Household wealth is rocketing; Schroders is thinking about privates; Ninety One’s pithy AI; German woes and much more.
The FTI fund is co-managed by Michael Hasenstab and Vivek Ahuja, according to Ng.
Hasenstab has been leading the fund since its inception in 2005. He is also the chief investment officer for the global macro team and manages other funds, including the Templeton Global Bond Fund and the Templeton Global Total Return Fund.
Hasenstab was joined by Ahuja in 2011, who first joined the firm in 2006.
Ng has no concerns over the FTI team, given that Hasenstab has been consistent with his investment approach and that both managers are supported by a sizable team of around 20 analysts globally.
Turning to the JP Morgan fund, Ng said that its portfolio managers, Ho Shaw Yann and Jason Pang, just took over the product’s management in 2018.
The product was previously managed by Stephan Chang, who was the firm’s former head of fixed income – a role that Ho took over last year when Chang decided to leave the firm.
Ng does not have any concerns over the fund’s new management, as Ho has been working on the fund and the fixed income team since 2011. Pang joined the firm in 2016.
Both managers are supported by 13 Asia fixed income analysts, Ng added.
