Liu does not have a preference when it comes to choosing between the two funds as she thinks both investment approaches make sense.
“Both managers are doing what they told investors. Although there was some underperformance recently, I think the execution for both funds is in place and the performance is a reflection of what the fund style and the investment processes are,” said Liu.
“These two funds are pretty good funds if you are thinking about investing in emerging markets for the medium or long term.”
She believes the JP Morgan fund may be suitable for aggressive investors with a higher risk tolerance as it adopts a growth investment style, while investors who are more prudent should consider the Fidelity fund due to its blended investment approach.
