HEAD-TO-HEAD: Blackrock versus Janus Henderson
FSA compares two global technology products: The BGF World Technology Fund and the Janus Henderson Global Technology Leaders Fund.
CONCLUSION
The Blackrock fund receives a five-star Morningstar rating and an analyst rating of Bronze, while the Janus Henderson offering gets four stars and a Neutral analyst rating.
Morningstar’s star rating looks at historically-adjusted performance and the analyst rating is based on forward-looking analysis.
Meakin did not mention which fund he prefers, but instead pointed towards their analyst ratings.
“The BGF World Technology has a [higher] Morningstar analyst rating of Bronze on the retail share class (certain cheaper share classes earn a Silver rating), reflecting our conviction in Kim’s strength as a technology stock-picker.
“The Janus Henderson Horizon Global Tech Leaders’ Neutral rating reflects the relatively newer management setup and the structure of the somewhat more benchmark-aware approach,” he said.
