Mike Sell joined Alquity in 2014 and is responsible for global emerging market equities. In addition to the Asia fund, he also manages the Alquity Indian Subcontinent, Future World and Africa funds, according to McDermott.
Sell has at least 20 years of experience investing in Asian equities. He joined Barings as a graduate trainee in 1994, where he became a member of the emerging market asset allocation committee. He was then appointed as senior partner at Thames River/Nevsky Capital, before moving to F&C within the long-only emerging markets business in 2011, McDermott added.
Meanwhile, the T Rowe Price fund has been managed by Eric Moffett since its launch in 2014. He has two decades’ worth of investment experience, including more than 10 years at T Rowe Price. He is based in Hong Kong, along with the majority of T Rowe Price’s Asian analyst team, a few of whom are also based in Singapore and in London, McDermott said.
