HEAD-TO-HEAD: Aberdeen Standard versus Jupiter

FSA compares two European equity products: The Aberdeen Standard Sicav European Equity Ex UK Fund and the Jupiter European Growth Fund.

The ASI fund has been managed by Ben Ritchie since 2015, according to McDermott. Ritchie, who joined the firm in 2002, is a senior investment manager on the UK and European equities team, as well as a deputy manager on the property shares fund.  He is joined on the team by Kurt Cruickshank and Roseanna Ivory, who are also named co-managers of the fund.

Turning to the Jupiter fund, McDermott said that the offering is co-managed by Mark Nichols and Mark Heslop. While both managers are experienced, he noted that the duo just joined in 2019 from Columbia Threadneedle.

At Columbia Threadneedle, Heslop co-managed the European Select Fund, while Nichols managed a global and European smaller companies fund, McDermott said.
