The ASI and Jupiter funds have performed strongly, with both offerings beating their sector averages and benchmarks by a huge margin on a three-year cumulative basis, according to data from FE Fundinfo (see above).
This is also true longer-term. McDermott noted that in the past five years, both funds have generated stronger returns relative to their peers. The ASI fund performed 87.12%, while the Jupiter fund returned 68.37%, FE data shows. The sector averages for European ex-UK and European incl. UK equity funds are 50.02% and 41.36%, respectively.
“Both funds are naturally positioned to perform in a growth environment,” he said.

However, given that both are high-conviction portfolios, investors should expect that they can perform markedly different from their respective benchmarks as stock selection would be the primary driver of their performance, McDermott noted.
Both funds have similar volatility profiles and are less volatile than the broader market and their peers, FE Fundinfo data shows.
