The FSA Spy market buzz – 4 April 2025
BNY Mellon IM’s conversion; Elusive libertarian investing dream; Eastspring and Vontobel on tariffs; Wisdom of Larry Fink; Has the EU finally seen sense? Price of admission and much more.
The Henderson fund is co-managed by Guy Barnard and Tim Gibson. While Barnard, who is based in Europe, covers global investments, Gibson, based in Singapore, focuses on Asia-Pacific. They are supported by eight analysts, two of whom are based in Singapore, according to Ng.
The Robeco fund is managed by a team of two portfolio managers, Folmer Pietersma and Christian Vondenbusch. Together with Patrick Lemmens they form a team responsible for Robeco’s financials and property strategies. They have no analysts dedicated to the team, but rely on other support within the firm.
Although both teams have solid industry experience, Ng considers the size of the Robeco team a handicap. The Henderson team, with its dedicated analysts and Asia-Pacific specialists is better positioned to perform in-depth analysis that’s needed.
