The FE rating, which measures alpha, volatility and consistency of returns over three years, is three crowns for the Eastspring fund and five crowns for the Invesco fund.
Based on the rating, Ng prefers the Invesco fund given its consistent huge outperformance and lower fees when compared to the Eastspring fund.
“If you would like to stay invested in India to capture the long-term structural growth of the market, Invesco would be a better choice,” he added.
However, the Eastspring fund may be more suitable for investors who believe caution should be exercised due to high valuations, Ng said, and fund’s comparatively lower volatility should also appeal to this type of investor.
