Fidelity hires from Credit Suisse for head of Asian fixed income

Lei Zhu was a founding member of Credit Suisse's Asian fixed income business.
A new way of greeting to avoid the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Two people (a man and a woman) bump elbows instead of hug or handshake.

Fidelity International has hired Lei Zhu from Credit Suisse Asset Management as head of Asian fixed income.

In her new role, Lei will have oversight of the fixed income portfolio management team in the region, while working closely with Fidelity’s research, trading and investment directing teams.

She will join Fidelity in January and will be based in Hong Kong. She will report to Steve Ellis, global chief investment officer for fixed income.

Lei was most recently head of fixed income for Asia at Credit Suisse Asset Management and a founding member of their asset management Asian fixed income business. She previously worked at DBS Bank and Ernst & Young.

“Lei Zhu’s breadth and depth of experience across the Asia Pacific region will add tremendous value to the team and to Fidelity as a whole. She has an exceptional track record and extensive knowledge of Asian fixed income markets. I am pleased to welcome someone of such calibre into our team and I know that our business will thrive and develop for the benefit of our clients under her leadership,” said Ellis.
