Stockwell will continue to serve in his role as chief operating officer.
Eastspring CEO Guy Strapp noted in a statement that “Singapore is not only our investment hub but is also increasingly important in supporting our global operations.”
Stockwell has been working for Eastspring since 2014, and became COO in June last year. He is responsible for local and regional operations, IT, dealing, performance, enterprise data, investment compliance, front office support and programme management office.
Prior to that he was the COO at BT Investment Management in Australia.
Eastspring said its Singapore office is the biggest among the 10 in Asia, with 350 employees.
Eastspring in Asia has had several people moves since December last year. The firm appointed separate CEOs for its Malaysia and Hong Kong businesses, as well as a Singapore-based investment services head.
