Columbia Threadneedle Investments has made two appointments in Singapore with Lucy Martin (pictured) appointed to the newly created role of vice president for responsible investment product specialist for Asia Pacific and Gregory Da Silva becoming product manager for Asia Pacific.
The pair will report to Sandra Cheng, Singapore CEO, while Martin will have a dotted line to Karlijn van Lierop, head of reo, based in the Netherlands.
Martin has been with Columbia Threadneedle since 2018 and has worked in client and distribution roles. Meanwhile, Da Silva also joined the investment manager in 2018, working with the RFP team in the region.
“We are excited to welcome Lucy and Gregory to their new positions based in Singapore, with a focus on driving awareness and sharing our Responsible Investment best practice with clients across Asia Pacific,” said Cheng.
“As client demands develop, focused on balancing returns with positive societal impact, the roles of responsible investment and product solutions become pivotal. Being able to bring together a team, steeped in market leading best practice to meet this client demand, highlights the strength of our offering at Columbia Threadneedle.”
“As responsible investment plays an increasingly central and integral role for clients, we expect the level of adoption to rise as awareness increases. The responsible investment landscape in Asia Pacific is complex when looking across jurisdictions and sectors, with varying regulation, governance and measurement,” said Jon Allen, head of Asia Pacific at Columbia Threadneedle.
“With Lucy and Greg’s appointments, we have an even stronger commitment and strength of expertise to help our clients navigate this landscape and support their evolving needs.”
