BNPP WM plucks JPM veteran for client role

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed Lemuel Lee as Asia-Pacific deputy head of investment services and head of investment services for Hong Kong.

Lee replaces Maggie Tsui, who remains as a special advisor for the firm.

Based in Hong Kong, Lee reports to Arnaud Tellier, head of investment services for Asia-Pacific, according to a statement from the firm.

He is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the firm’s investment offering and advisory to clients in Hong Kong across traditional and digital channels, the development of discretionary and advisory services as well as the advancement of new initiatives.

He is also expected to help drive the firm’s “strategic ambitions in transforming client servicing across Asia”, Tellier said in the statement.

Lee has around 14 years of experience in investment banking and wealth management. Before he joined BNP Paribas Wealth, he was previously JP Morgan Private Bank’s head of equities for Asia. Prior to that, he spent eight years with JP Morgan Corporate and Investment Bank, assuming various roles in equity derivatives distribution and marketing.

FSA sought more information from JP Morgan Private Bank but the firm declined to comment.
