Koh will take charge of the role on 16 March and will be based in Hong Kong.
According to the firm, Koh will play a key role in the delivery of its strategies and continued expansion into Asia.
Koh worked at AMP Capital from 2001-2006, managing Australian equities.
He moved to Eastspring Investment’s Hong Kong office in 2006. Since 2010, he has been managing Greater China portfolios with assets under management of $2bn.
Koh’s appointment was part of a number of changes in AMP Capital’s multi-strategy team.
The firm said Mark McClatchey will take on a new role as head of multi-strategy research. McClatchey was previously co-head of multi-strategy funds.
As a result, Lachlan Davis, currently co-head of multi-strategy funds will become the head of multi-strategy funds.
Moreover, the firm said it has promoted Rob Pinnuck and Reuben De Barros as deputy heads of the multi-strategy team.
The changes are expected to take place from 31 March.
