Natixis IM hires ex Morgan Stanley IM director in Asia wealth push

Johan Lim has been named as head of wealth for Hong Kong, Singapore and Southeast Asia for Natixis Investment Managers.

Natixis Investment Managers has appointed Johan Lim as head of wealth for Hong Kong, Singapore and Southeast Asia as it seeks to strengthen its wealth business in the region.

Based in Singapore, Lim will be responsible for growing its wealth business and working with the firm’s global network of affiliate asset managers, which includes the likes of Harris Oakmark, Mirova and Loomis, Sayles & Company.

Reporting to Dora Seow, CEO, Natixis IM Singapore, Lim will oversee an existing group of wholesale distribution team members across Hong Kong and Singapore.

“I am delighted with Johan’s appointment to Natixis IM and confident that his strong expertise and leadership will set us up for success as we work towards our strategic objectives,” Seow said.

“The wealth business is a key driver of Natixis IM’s growth strategy and we see significant opportunity in this segment in the years ahead.”

“Private wealth in Asia continues to increase, with the growth rate of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals set to increase by 38% between 2023 and 2028, according to some projections.”

Lim was formerly at Morgan Stanley Investment Management serving as executive director, international distribution.

Prior to that, he spent several years working in the investment management teams at banks and asset managers in Malaysia, including CIMB.
