BNY Investments has appointed Masaaki Sakakibara (pictured) as head of Japan.
Sakakibara reports to Doni Shamsuddin, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific at BNY Investments.
“Masaaki brings a wealth of experience managing multi-disciplinary business,” said Shamsuddin. “His track record of driving business growth will be vital to our long-term success in Japan.”
Sakakibara was most recently with Mercer Japan, where he was wealth business country leader and CEO of Mercer Investments (Japan). He was previously head of sales, client service and marketing at Western Asset Management Japan and has also worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
