Franklin Templeton expands client portfolio management team

The US asset manager has hired a senior client portfolio manager to grow its Apac business.

Franklin Templeton has hired Oliver Lee (main picture) to take on the role of senior vice president, senior client portfolio manager at Templeton Global Investments, according to a statement from the firm.

He will be responsible for representing the group’s strategies in the Apac and Middle East regions, working closely with Franklin Templeton’s distribution partners and clients.

Based in Singapore, Lee will be reporting to Anu Sawhney, managing director and head of Business Development at Templeton Global Investments.

Prior to joining the firm, Lee was client portfolio manager for Japan equities at Eastspring Investments. Before that, he held various roles at Jupiter Asset Management, Schroders, Sloane Robinson, Goldman Sachs and UBS.

Lee is taking over the role from William Chang, who will move to a newly created role of senior client portfolio manager for Franklin Equity Group.

Chang will lead business development efforts in Apac and report to Franklin Equity Group’s head of business development.

Before joining Franklin Templeton, Chang was previously at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York.
