UBS WM

UBS Wealth Management announced that Bryan Crawford has been promoted as global head of alternatives and syndicate distribution. His role had been head of Asia-Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Crawford has worked at UBS for about five years, according to his Linkedin profile.

Crawford will be responsible for the distribution of hedge funds, private equity, real estate and sustainable investing, the firm said. He will also work with UBS Investment Bank, external distributors and UBS Wealth Management clients on public equity and debt capital market transactions.

“Assets allocated to the alternatives sector continue to grow, and the next twelve months is likely to present opportunities for hedge fund and private equity managers to generate attractive returns,” Crawford said in the statement.

“Investors expecting a rise in volatility should increase allocations to hedge funds and, for those attracted to the performance premium from taking illiquidity exposure, to private equity,” he added.

UBS is also overhauling its wealth management business in Europe and emerging markets, reports FSA‘s sister publication, International Adviser.
