Eastspring hires new Japan CEO

Eastspring Investments has appointed Tsukasa Sekizaki as president and CEO of Eastspring Investments Japan. Sekizaki will replace Koji Wada, who resigned earlier this month to pursue other opportunities.
Sekizaki will be in charge of driving Eastspring’s distribution growth in Japan. His appointment is expected to take effect from mid-September.

Sekizaki was previously president and CEO of Deutsche Trust Company and Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, both within the Deutsche Bank Group, Japan.

Prior to that, he held distribution leadership roles with other global fund houses based in Japan, including Fidelity Investments (Japan) where he worked for about 15 years.

Eastspring Investments, the asset management arm of Prudential Corporation Asia, recently reported a 22% increase of funds under management to $115 billion following first half growth in third party net flows (as of 30 June, 2014), according to the firm.
