Allianz names ex-BlackRock executive as new global CIO for fixed income

Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has appointed Michael Krautzberger as its new global CIO for fixed income, according to a statement from the firm.

He is succeeding Franck Dixmier, who will be leaving the firm to give new direction to his career after nearly 30 years of service.

Krautzberger joins AllianzGI from BlackRock where he was most recently head of Europe, Middle East and Africa fundamental fixed income. Prior to that he was chief investment officer and member of the executive board of BlackRock Asset Management Deutschland.

He will report to global head of investments Deborah Zurkow and be a member of AllianzGI’s investment executive committee as well as its international management group.

Zurkow said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Franck for all he has done to build AllianzGI’s fixed income credentials during his long service with the firm; he has been a thoughtful, insightful, professional investor and leader.”

The European headquartered global asset manager has €553bn ($594.1bn) in assets under management, of which €171bn is invested in fixed income assets on behalf of clients globally.
