Ramon Maronilla, T Rowe Price
Ramon Maronilla took up the position last month and reports to Sydney-based Nick Beecroft, Apac head of investment specialist group, according to a statement by T Rowe Price today.
Based in Hong Kong, Maronilla joins the company’s investment specialist group, which has 46 members worldwide.
He is also working alongside the firm’s two other Apac-based fixed income portfolio specialists, Yukiko Hanai and Joran Laird.
“[Maronilla]’s appointment demonstrates our focus on delivering strong investment outcomes for our clients,” said Beecroft.
“At a time when investors are rethinking their portfolios to seek ways to generate returns in a more volatile and uncertain market environment, we believe that having diversified portfolios with actively-managed fixed income building blocks is paramount to meeting their goals.”
Maronilla will also work closely with the firm’s global team of fixed income portfolio managers to offer their investment expertise to a growing base of institutional and intermediary clients in Asia, according to the firm.
Maronilla has more than 24 years of experience in Asia asset management and spent 11 years at JP Morgan Asset Management where he was a managing director and head of fixed income investment specialists for Asia Pacific-ex Japan.
He has also worked at State Street Global Advisors and Pimco.
