Singapore’s Grasshopper promotes Alex Wong to CIO

Proprietary trading firm and market maker Grasshopper has promoted Alex Wong to chief investment officer (CIO).

Wong, whose appointment was effective from 8 May, was previously head of systematic trading since 2016, the Singapore-headquartered company announced on 26 July.

As CIO, Wong will lead the firm’s strategic investment decisions and support its expansion into new Asian markets and asset management.

Prior to joining Grasshopper he dabbled in quantitative trading at Toji Trading and was a proprietary trader in equities and derivatives at Kuranda Trading.
