JP Morgan Private Bank’s Singapore and southeast Asia head to leave

J.P Morgan Private Banking’s head of Singapore and southeast Asia James Wey will be the leaving the bank in September, sources close to the matter told FSA.

Wey will be succeeded by Paul Thompson, who currently heads the Hong Kong and Philippines team for J.P Morgan Private Bank.

Thompson – who joined the bank in 2000 and moved to the private banking arm in 2004 – will be relocating to Singapore in the near future, the sources added.

Prior to his current role, Thompson headed the investment team for Hong Kong and the Philippines and served as the team lead for sponsors for Philippines and Thailand markets.
