HSBC GPB taps Lombard Odier for desk head

The veteran wealth management banker will be desk head for Singapore.

HSBC today announced the appointment of Annie Lim as global private banking (GPB) desk head for Singapore, effective 2 December 2024.

As part of HSBC’s strategy to grow its GPB business in Asia and become the leading international wealth manager in the region, Lim’s appointment underscores the bank’s commitment to building a dedicated team to serve its ultra high net worth (UHNW) clients, according to a statement by HSBC. 

In her role, Lim will focus on growing client relationships in the UHNW segment and family offices. She will report to Hammad Hashmi, market head, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, HSBC GPB.

Lim joins HSBC from Lombard Odier and has over 29 years of banking experience in Asia. She has expertise in wealth management and client advisory, with a proven track record of serving UHNW clients, including family offices.

Her career includes 11 years at Credit Suisse, along with a decade at Standard Chartered and American Express Bank in wealth management.

Commenting on this appointment, Tommy Leung, head of global private banking, South Asia, said: “Annie’s extensive expertise and proven ability to serve UHNW clients will be instrumental as we continue to drive innovation, capture opportunities, and meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
