Hines recruits from Carlyle and Brookfield

Hao Zhan and Juan Jimenez have been hired to grow the business in Apac and the Americas.

Hines, a global real estate investment manager, has made two senior hires to accelerate the growth of its private wealth solutions and institutional capital raising platform across Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Hao Zhan joins as head of Asia, private wealth solutions, based in Hong Kong. He has over a decade of experience in private wealth, asset management, and investor relations. Most recently, he was head of Asia for Carlyle Global Wealth, where he led the firm’s private wealth expansion across the region and built out its Asia platform. Zhan reports to Paul Ferraro, global head of private wealth solutions at Hines.

“Hao brings a rare combination of regional insight and relationship-driven leadership,” said Ferraro. “His experience working closely with Asian banks, wealth managers, and family offices will be key as we scale our private wealth offering globally and aim to deliver compelling investment solutions to individual investors across the region.”

Juan Jimenez joins as head of institutional investor solutions – Americas, based in New York City. With more than two decades of experience in real estate and capital markets, Jimenez was previously managing director at Brookfield’s Global Client Group, where he managed global fundraising and co-investment efforts for institutional and family office clients. He reports to Michael Haas, global head of institutional investor solutions at Hines.

“Juan has spent over two decades building trusted partnerships with institutional investors and leading complex capital raises across global real estate markets,” said Haas.“His expertise will be instrumental in broadening our institutional reach and driving performance across our investor solutions platform.”

These appointments, along with the promotion of Hidemi Shiraishito head of institutional investor solutions – Asia Pacific, reinforce Hines’ strategy to build a fully integrated capital platform, according to a press release.

“With leadership now in place across private wealth, institutional, and directs channels, the firm is scaling its global capital raising capabilities,” it said.

Hines owns and operates $90.1bn of assets, as of 31 December 2024, across property types and on behalf of a diverse group of institutional and private wealth clients.
