Dennis Lynch has run the Morgan Stanley fund for two decades, and has shown an ability not only to manage a successful strategy but also to retain staff.
“The team is remarkably stable, and its longevity is aligned with the long-term perspective of its investment decisions,” said Poole.
The bench comprises 16 members, and there have not been any departures since 2011, Poole noted. Lynch is also prepared to take on additional staff, especially if they can contribute a different perspective. Michael Mauboussin and Dan Callahan joined in January 2020, and Lynch has hired other analysts to focus on popular sectors such as ESG and healthcare.
At T Rowe Price, Taymour Tamaddon has been managing the US Large Cap Growth Equity Fund since January 2017, succeeding Rob Sharps who was elevated to chief investment officer at the firm. Tamaddon joined T Rowe Price in 2004, and has spent much of his career as a healthcare analyst and portfolio manager.
“Tamaddan is a very capable fund manager, and he is supported by top-quality team,” said Poole. Analyst coverage is especially strong in the tech and communications sectors, which make up a large part of the fund’s portfolio.
