Manager review
The Invesco fund has been managed by Paul Read and Paul Causer since inception in 2006. In 2016, Causer stepped down while remaining part of the team and was replaced as co-manged by Julien Eberhardt. They are supported by 15 portfolio managers and analysts.
“The Invesco team has been one of the most stable teams we’ve come across in the euro corporate bond space,” Dash said. “There have been no departures among investment professionals and the team has grown over the years. It has a very collegiate atmosphere, with ideas coming from across the desk.”
The team managing the Schroders fund underwent a large reorganization in 2012. Patrick Vogel, the manager of the fund, joined the firm at that time and implemented the themes-driven approach.
The team, which is also responsible for several other bond strategies, consists of seven portfolio managers, three quant strategists and ten credit analysts.
“Although the current setup has not been in place for long, the results have been impressive,” wrote Carlos Lucar, analyst at Morningstar, in his June 2017 fund report. “The fund has consistently outpaced its benchmark and its category.”
