HEAD-TO-HEAD: First State versus JP Morgan
FSA compares two India equity products: the First State Indian Subcontinent Fund and the JP Morgan India Fund.

The ongoing charges figure (OCF) for the First State fund is 1.1%, which is just below the median OCF of 1.2% for the India equity fund sector, which comprises 26 products authorised for sale to Hong Kong and/or Singapore retail investors.
But, the 0.95% charged by the JP Morgan fund stands out in the sector, because it is an inexpensive way for investors to benefit from the expertise of high-quality managers.
“It is nice and cheap,” said Nel.
