The Capital Group New Perspective fund has nine portfolio managers who each run a sleeve of the portfolio, according to McDermott. “These sleeves will vary in size depending on their conviction and number of best ideas.”
The nine managers are Brady Enright, Jody Jonsson, Jonathan Knowles, Noriko Chen, Robert Lovelace, Steven Watson, Patrice Collette, Barbara Burtin and Andraz Razen.
Alongside them, around a fifth of the portfolio is run by a team of analysts who can contribute a few of their best ideas from their own specialist research sector. There is also a bench of undisclosed managers to step in if a named manager stands down and needs to be replaced, McDermott noted.
The Nomura fund is run by Ilan Chaitowitz and Tom Wildgoose. “Chaitowitz has almost two decades worth of experience and has been at Nomura since 2012, while Wildgoose has 17 years’ worth of experience, joining Nomura back in 2007,” said McDermott.
