Both the Bosera and the Huatai-Pinebridge funds receive a five-star rating.
Morningstar’s star rating looks at historical-adjusted performance.
Neither fund has a (forward-looking) Morningstar Analyst rating.
Huang did not say which fund he prefers. He pointed to the five-star ratings, the consistent excess performance and the stability of the teams.
The choice, therefore, depends on risk appetite.
He said that investors looking at taking more risk might prefer the Huatai-Pinebridge fund, given its higher tracking error.
The Bosera fund, meanwhile, will be more appealing for investors who have less risk appetite but are still seeking excess return, he said.
