HEAD-TO-HEAD: Blackrock versus Schroders
FSA compares two UK equity products: the BlackRock GF United Kingdom Fund and the Schroder ISF UK Equity Fund.
Fees
Annual fees charged by the 100 funds that are categorised by FE Fundinfo as “HKM equity – UK” differ widely.
They range from as low as 0.02% to as high as 3.08%.
The BlackRock fund charges 1.83%, whereas the ongoing charge fee for Schroders is 1.46%.
Poole noted that both funds have relatively high fees, although the BlackRock fee is considerably higher. High fees are not that unusual though in Asia.
“The relatively high fees in this share class will increase the challenge for investors looking to gain alpha from investing in the asset class.”
