Although both funds receive a neutral analyst rating, the Blackrock fund is awarded three stars by Morningstar, while the Fidelity product only has two stars on a five-star scale.
FE Fundinfo, which bases its assessment on a fund’s three-year history of delivering alpha, also favours Blackrock over Fidelity, by assigning a three crowns rating to the former and one crown to the latter.
“We have both funds’ people and process pillars rated as above average, signalling equal conviction,” said Mottola.
