The Axa fund has been led by Nicolas Trindade since the product’s launch in 2010, according to McDermott. He joined the firm in 2006 and also manages other bond funds, such as the Sterling Credit Short Duration Bond Fund, the Global Short Duration Bond Fund and the WF Global Credit Bonds.
In 2014, Phil Roantree, who has 19 years of investment experience, joined the firm as a co-manager of the fund, according to data from Morningstar Direct.
The managers are supported by a large team of global analysts, as well as macroeconomic strategists and risk management strategists, McDermott said, but was not able to provide exact figures.
Turning to the Invesco fund, McDermott said that the product has been co-managed by Luke Greenwood and Lyndon Man since 2013. Greenwood joined the firm in 2000 and also manages other bond funds, including the Euro Bond, the Euro Short Term Bond and the Global Investment Grade Corporate Bond funds.
Man joined in 2011 and is the principal portfolio manager for Invesco’s fixed income global investment grade credit funds.
Given that the managers of both funds are experienced and have been consistent with their investment approach, McDermott does not have any key concerns over the funds’ management.
