Fund research firm Morningstar pays a lot of attention to management charges and expenses, and share classes that charge excessive fees are typically assigned lower ratings.
The ongoing charges figure (OCF) for the retail share class of the Allianz fund is 1.54%, which is below the 1.70% average in the US dollar moderate allocation Morningstar category, according to DeFauw.
The OCF for the Franklin product is close to the mean at 1.69%. Neither fund charges performance fees, noted DeFauw.
