HEAD-TO-HEAD: CCB Principal vs E Fund

FSA compares two China onshore funds available for sale in Hong Kong through the Mutual Recognition of Funds (MRF): the CCB Principal Dual Income Bond Fund and the E Fund Stable Return Bond Fund.

CCB Principal has a relatively smaller investment team compared to E Fund’s 20-people group, Yao said.

But its lead manager Jingli Zhong is one of the fund’s strengths, he noted. With eight years of experience in the mutual fund industry, he is considered one of the mainland’s most experienced experts in fixed income investment and one of the most stable fund managers in China’s fund industry.

Currently, he serves as the CIO of the fixed income department with no administrative role. The fixed income team he leads has relatively rich experience, Yao added.

Lead manager of the E Fund product is Qinghua Zhang, who has six years of investment experience and three years of experience in mutual fund management. He is currently the general manager of the fixed income investment department.

The fund has also recently announced that it has hired a new investment assistant to help manage the portfolio, Yao added.
