Swiss asset manager GAM has appointed Paul Markham (pictured) as investment director to lead the firm’s global growth equities and disruptive growth teams.
He takes up the new role in February, joining from Newton Investment Management, where he has spent 25 years most recently as head of global opportunities equities.
Markham has managed strategies focusing on a range of regions during his career, including European, Japanese, and sustainable global equities.
Mark Hawtin, current GAM global growth equities head, is leaving the firm to join Liontrust as their head of global growth equities.
Elmar Zumbuehl, CEO of GAM said, “I am delighted to welcome Paul to GAM, his experience and track record will help us grow our global equity franchise as part of our strategy which is focused on creating long-term value for all our clients, shareholders, and employees.”
