Former SC private banker resurfaces at Nomura

Olaf van Duijnhoven has been hired as executive director and team lead, investment advisory at Nomura International Wealth Management (IWM), based in Singapore, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In this role, he is a senior member of the Japanese firm’s investment products and advisory solutions team, promoting and communicating Nomura’s IWM product offerings to relationship managers and clients.

Last June, Van Duijnhoven resigned from Standard Chartered Private Bank after 10 years, where he was most recently executive director and team leader, investment advisory. His regional responsibilities covered Greater China North Asia, Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam) and international (Europe and Middle East)

Van Duijnhoven also spent two years as a senior investment advisor at LBBW in Singapore and 12 years at Deutsche Bank, Singapore Branch.

State Street poaches from Deutsche

State Street has hired Jeslyn Tan as Asia Pacific head of product management. Based in Singapore, Tan will be responsible for developing and driving an end-to-end product strategy for the region. She will report globally to Brenda Lyons, global head of asset servicing product, and regionally to Mostapha Tahiri, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific.

Tan joins State Street from Deutsche Bank, where she was most recently the global head of product management. She has 26 years of experience in the banking industry, covering product development, digital and technology transformation initiatives, as well as building strategic relationships with clients.

Indosuez WM makes senior Hong Kong hire

Indosuez Wealth Management, the global wealth management brand of Crédit Agricole Group, has appointed Timothy Tsang head of investment solutions and deputy head of markets, investments & structuring for the bank’s Hong Kong Branch, effective as of 23 July 2021.

Tsang has 26 years of experience in wealth management and client advisory. Prior to joining Indosuez, Tsang was managing director and head of investment advisory and products, solutions & client experience at Nomura Wealth Management where he was a member of the division management team, and managed both flow and bespoke solutions in Hong Kong and Singapore.

At Indosuez WM, he is responsible for strengthening the bank’s investment advisory capabilities. In addition, he will help business growth by providing advice to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. Based in Hong Kong, Tsang reports to Arjan de Boer, head of markets, investments & structuring, Asia.

Nomura selects new Greater China head

Richard Hu has joined Nomura as a managing director and group head for Greater China. A 20-year industry veteran, Hu joins from Bank of Singapore where he was a market head for Greater China. Previously, he also held several senior roles with Julius Baer, HSBC Private Bank, Credit Suisse, UBS and Citi Private Bank, where he had the same regional coverage.

In January, Nomura said that it had hired around 20 private bankers for its Hong Kong and Singapore businesses.

Standard Chartered poaches from HSBC

Nipud Sud has moved to Standard Chartered Private Bank where he has been appointed an executive director and relationship manager, based in Singapore.

Sud reports to Adeline Chow, private banking team lead of Singapore and Malaysia Adeline Chow. He has a decade of private banking experience, most recently at HSBC where he was responsible for Hong Kong and Asean clients, and he has also worked at Citi and JP Morgan private banks.
