Franklin appoints head of investment solutions in Asia

Franklin Templeton has appointed Steven Moeller as head of investment solutions in Asia to expand its multi-asset propositions in the region.

Moeller is responsible for developing and managing multi-asset, multi strategy investment solutions for institutional and retail clients in Asia.

Moeller has been with Franklin Templeton Investments since 1999. He recently relocated to Hong Kong from San Mateo, California to take charge of the new role.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton Solutions, he was a managing director overseeing institutional product management for Franklin Templeton Institutional.

He has also worked with PIMCO Advisors/Columbus Circle Investors, Bankers Trust Company and Wilshire Associates.

According to the firm, investors are now targeting specific outcomes in their portfolios in order to navigate the current market environment.

Within this changing landscape, the firm believes Moeller’s appointment will help to develop strategies for locally-managed investors.

Franklin Templeton Solutions is a global investment management group dedicated to multi-strategy solutions. It manages $40 billion in assets globally.

Given the volatility in global markets, many asset management companies are seeking to expand their multi-asset capabilities and products aimed at mitigating downside risk.

Recently, Manulife Asset Management created a new role to expand asset allocation capabilities. Nikko Asset Management recently announced setting up a global multi-asset team in Singapore, while Schroder unveiled a global asset allocation strategy last month.
