Endowus has entered a partnership with Partners Group, a global private markets firm, to bring institutional private equity access to Endowus Private Wealth clients, according to the Singapore digital wealth platform provider.
The new offering gives accredited investors direct access to one of Partners Group’s flagship private equity funds. The fund combines primary and secondary private equity investments which are across over 500 companies, assets, geographies and vintage years. The fund focuses on industries benefiting from long-term transformative trends.
There are no subscription or redemption charges for Endowus clients, who also pay an institutional low-cost fee, with a minimum investment of $100,000. This seeks to lower the barriers for gaining exposure to private equity for Singapore-based individuals and family offices.
Gregory Van, CEO of Endowus said, “Despite a deep interest in exposure to alternative investments, many clients often face obstacles, illiquidity, and complicated cost structures when trying to access them via traditional players.”
While the recommended investment horizon for the fund is mid to long-term, the fund is a semi-liquid strategy that allows for monthly subscriptions and redemptions subject to gating restriction. Clients receive fully paid-in shares and do not need to process capital calls or distributions. These and other accredited investor products and solutions are available on the Endowus private wealth platform.
Demand for private equity
Endowus had also seen a significant uptick in the number of accredited investors on its platform, almost tripling between April 2021 and 2022, according to the firm.
Samuel Rhee, chairman and chief investment officer of Endowus said, “This new collaboration with the Partners Group opens new doors for Endowus Private Wealth clients, by giving immediate exposure to a diversified and mature private equity portfolio.”
Headquartered in Singapore and licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Endowus is a digital advisor that spans both private wealth and public pension savings.
Founded in 2017, Endowus has raised funding from investors such as EDBI, Prosus Ventures, Z Venture Capital, UBS, Samsung Ventures, Singtel Innov8, and global leading venture capital firms Lightspeed Venture Partners and SoftBank Ventures Asia.
Set up in 1996, Partners Group is a global private markets firm with $127bn in AUM as of 31 December 2021. The firm employs 1,500 professionals across 20 offices worldwide and has regional headquarters in Switzerland, the US, and Singapore.
