Eastspring Investments today announced the appointment of Salman Haider as head of Asean and chief executive officer of Eastspring Singapore (subject to regulatory approval).
This position is in addition to Haider’s current role as chief distribution officer. He will continue to report to Bill Maldonado, chief executive officer, Eastspring Investments Group.
Based in Singapore, Haider (pictured) joined Eastspring in March 2024 as chief distribution Officer. He oversees the firm’s global distribution business and the management of its Prudential Life relationships, along with responsibilities for its Japan and Americas markets.
In his expanded role covering Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, Haider will lead Eastspring’s growth strategy in Asean, with a focus on client-centric solutions and delivering exceptional service for clients and stakeholders, according to a statement by Eastspring, the asset management business of Prudential plc.
Maldonado said: “[Haider] will be pivotal in driving business growth and strengthening our presence in Asean. This appointment reflects our focus in bringing together our talent, expertise and synergies to deliver greater value for our business and our clients.”
Prior to joining Eastspring, Haider spent 12 years at Citi and also held senior management positions at J.P. Morgan, Barclays Private Bank, and Habib Bank AG.
