Perrin will be responsible for Greater China markets and will work with portfolio manager Dmitriy Vlasov and a team of analysts.
He will report to Adrian Pop, head of Asia at East Capital.
Perrin joins East Capital from BNP Paribas Investment Partners Asia, where he was most recently head of Greater China equities and prior to that head of Asian SRI Equities.
Perrin has 15 years of experience in international financial markets and has been involved in the development of sustainability innovation at its early stages. He has spent time in the management of clean technologies and environmental funds.
“Francois is a great addition to the team as he has a unique background that combines solid experience in sustainability investments with a strong knowledge of the Greater China market, including the onshore A-shares market,” said Karine Hirn, CEO of East Capital Asia.
“The appointment of Francois is part of East Capital’s plans for further growth as we expect a turnaround in the risk appetite for emerging markets in general, and we see China being increasingly important in terms of allocation,” Hirn noted.
East Capital is the first asset manager to receive approval by the CSSF in Luxembourg for the East Capital (Lux) China Fund to invest up to 100% in A-shares via the Stock Connect programme.
