Alain Bernasconi has joined Deutsche Private Bank chief operating officer (COO) emerging markets, effective immediately, according to an internal statement by the bank.
He reports directly to Marco Pagliara, head of emerging markets, with a “dotted line” to Yiping Li, global chief operating officer, Private Bank.
Bernasconi was most recently head of the business integration team in the global wealth management COO department at UBS Singapore.
Prior to the takeover by UBS, Bernasconi spent 23 years at Credit Suisse, where he held multiple senior roles, including as Apac COO for wealth management.
Pagliara and Li said: “Having begun his career in the front office as relationship manager, [Bernasconi] has a thorough understanding of the wealth management value chain and client life cycle.”
“With more than 15 years in Asia, and decades of COO experience across geographies – Asia, Americas, Europe – [he] brings exceptional industry expertise in risk, regulation, technology change, cost management and strategy.”
“We are confident the emerging markets franchise will accelerate transformation while navigating risks in an increasingly complex world, in close collaboration with control function partners and regional management,” they added.
