Citigroup has named Marc Luet as Asia north and Australia cluster and banking head, effective 1 April.
His current role is Japan cluster and banking head and he is taking over from Angel Ng, who is retiring after 26 with the bank, according to a statement from Citi.
Luet will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for geographic management and legal entity management across the cluster, as well as oversight of products and banking segments and local client engagement and delivery across all lines of business.
“Marc will be focused on creating greater connectivity across the bank to deliver the full power of Citi to our clients,” said Ernesto Torres Cantu, head of international. “The Asia north and Australia cluster is a key growth area for Citi internationally, having been in the region since 1902.”
Luet was previously Citi country officer and CEO in various businesses which included Australia and New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Turkey, Israel and EMEA.
Angel Ng was appointed head of Citi’s Asia wealth business in 2022 after joining the firm in 1998 where she held roles that included CEO of Hong Kong and Macau, head of retail banking and head of wealth management.
“I wish Angel happiness in this new chapter of life and look forward to Marc’s leadership to bring the cluster to new heights,” Cantú said.
