Angel Chia named executive director of HKAWL

Chia's appointment comes as Hong Kong continues to boost its credentials as a family office hub.

The Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) today announced the appointment of Angel Chia as the executive director of the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy (HKAWL).

She takes ups her new position on 1 March 2024.

Chia has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including as chief executive officer of EAM SingAlliance (Hong Kong) and founder of NexGenerator.. Prior to joining the HKAWL, she was the chair of the Family Office Association Hong Kong.

She has also held senior leadership positions including chief strategy officer of a multi- family office and CEO of an overseas operation of a mainland brokerage firm, according to FSDC.

Chia also has a broad international exposure having worked with global financial firms in Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and Taipei. Ms Chia holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

“[Chia’s] extensive experience and expertise in the family office sector, coupled with her passion for empowering the next generation of family principals, will undoubtedly add significant value to the HKAWL in engaging the industry,” said Adrian Cheng, FSDC board member and chairman of the HKAWL.
