Allspring Global Investments has added its first equity fund to its climate transition suite of products.

The Allspring Climate Transition Global Equity fund was previously known as the Allspring 2 Degree Global Equity fund, which launched in July 2021.

Having joined the climate transition suite of products, the investment strategy will now include a net zero 2050 target.

Allspring will meet the target by achieving a weighted average carbon intensity for the fund that is lower than the MSCI All Country World index, with a view to reducing the cap to zero by 2050.

The fund is available to investors in Singapore and professional investors only in Hong Kong. It is classified as an article 8 fund under SFDR.

The climate transition suite of products includes the following fixed-income strategies: CT Global Buy and Maintain, CT Global High Yield and CT Global Investment Grade Credit.

“Building on the success of our fixed income climate transition strategies, which have amassed US$4.5bn over the last three years, we have now expanded our ability to provide climate transition solutions for both fixed income and equity investors seeking to invest in the transition to a decarbonised economy,” said Andy Sowerby, head of the international client group at Allspring.

“The Climate Transition Global Equity Fund has a compelling track record of adding significant value over the MSCI ACWI, proving that a climate transition investment approach does not come at the detriment of financial returns.”
