Blackstone today said that Kimberly Kim will join the firm as a senior managing director and head of Apac insurance institutional client solutions for Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI).
This is a newly created role to support the continued expansion of the business Asia Pacific, according to a statement by the firm.
Kim (pictured) has over two decades of experience in the Apac insurance market. Prior to Blackstone, she was with BlackRock as head of financial institutions coverage in Apac.
Tyler Dickson, global head of client relations for BXCI, said: “Kimberly will play an instrumental role as we continue to expand BXCI’s presence across Apac.”
Philip Sherrill, global head of insurance for BXCI, added: “We see a significant opportunity to serve more of this important client base in the region, delivering value for insurers and their underlying policyholders.”
Blackstone manages over $250bn of insurance client capital across private credit, liquid credit, and other strategies and $484bn in corporate and real estate credit assets, making it the world’s largest third-party focused credit business.
BXCI has committed to more than 20 deals in the region over the last three years, and doubled its headcount with key hires across Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore, said the firm.
